Photographing babies is not an ultimate no-no but we have to recognize their limitations--not just that babies don't do what you want them to do. There are the issues of lighting and styling.

Can you create a lighted atmosphere that improves the scene?

How is depth of field used? In the second pic, the blanket on the right takes over. It is 1/4-1/3 of the frame.

Can you create a stylized environment? Does the environment makes sense--how does it relate to subject?

Is their over-repetition. Notice similar position in 2 and 3, and to some degree, 1. Then, how does 4 fit in?

Bottom line is, would a neutral photo critic think it is a technically good image?
