Hidden Structure

The repetitive bands wrapped around an unknown object create an appearance of a hidden structure on a micro-level. The cutouts on the band help the viewer zigzag through each level. There are many levels of texture in this photo, from the wear on the clasps to the stained, oxidized metal. I can almost feel the texture created by the cutouts and the oxidized metal. Overall, a really great photo with just a hint of color to break up the repetition of bands.
The second photo is very clean and well composed. The ambiguity of the object and lack of color in the photo helps draw the viewer to focus on its structural contents. The circular perimeter of the object combines both smooth and rough textures that also adds to the hidden and complex structures of the object.
