Chicago Photos in EPS

You can see some of my photos from Chicago at the Existential Photographer's Sanctuary. These might help you think about your open assignment.

Wednesday is the last day...

Wednesday is the last day to sign up for the Department of Journalism and Photo Club trip to Chicago to photograph the Windy City (better known as the home to the MLS Chicago Fire). Students in the news-ed vein will be visiting the People magazine bureau and Chinatown, while photo students can choose their subjects. Don't miss out on this great opportunity--we are charging $20 for the bus ride. I'm organizing this party and I'd like to see more of us shooters going. On the bus I will distribute a map of restaurants along and near Michigan Avenue. You will probably find me at Oysy for dinner.

Chicago

Seventeen people have signed up for Chicago, but no Photo II students yet, I think. We need at least 30 to go. Sign up, people!

Welcome, Phil

Just a quick welcome to Phil Weston, who will be offering critiques of your three studio assignments (still life, food and/or beverage, and person). We will review his comments, mine and your own Tuesday in class.

Oh my god! Studio Photos

I am not entirely pleased with these. Be merciful.

Studio photography

Headshot of Kendra. She may be a star someday.

Reflective fruit

Do you write letters?

I am sorry if it seems too stale..

studio pictures

These pictures are better, especially the highlights on the sweatshirt. That's probably not cool that I left the floor and the edge of the backdrop in the frame. I guess we'll see. There's a shadow on the left of the hockey stick blade. What was left of the root beer in the bottle blended in with the black cloth. That sucked. Framing and arrangement of the still life stuff is kind of dull, I didn't really mix that up a whole lot. And since when did ice crinkle up like that? I wish I had root beer right now, though.
